“I sculpted this piece using my parents as models. When I asked them to sit down and get comfortable, they just seemed to fit together so perfectly. It was such a self-directed pose, as though they’ve been doing it for years — and they have! They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2011. The carving on the back is a little added discovery …. ‘I love thee’. I like the sound of the word ‘thee’. It feels poetic and intimate to me." –Susan Lordi

Perfect gift for someone special
By: Flo on 20 August 2018My granny passed away unexpectedly a few weeks ago and I got this for my grandad so he could have a little reminder for his first Christmas without her. They were married for 62 years and I've never met another couple more in love. This is the one thing I really wanted to get him as they are so beautiful and say so much but been simple. The little note on the back is a great little touch. I love it.
